Cordova update

Well. The sandman cant make, looks like I may go solo. Weather makes it iffy? Real iffy. I think. May skip it due to my points and burn out factor, Sunday is the final race !

Roppo... I mean sandman! And fink!

Well today was a great day at 66, roppo is officially now called.....wait for it...... The sandman!  For those of u who don't know, he , at the last race, put it in the sand. So now, yes he is THE SANDMAN!  I did ok today, I lost against myself in the final.....not really happy with the breakout, but I am stoked about the runner up!  Lookin forward to 3 days of racin. Goin to Cordova to run the world series with the sandman, then Sunday at66.  But the best part of all is, I found the sweet spot.... Again!   Se ya

Faster faster!

Is it sunday yet!? I wanna kick some more butt!! Atleast let it be Saturday. Going down to Andy jr's work to rebalence my tires and do a oil change... 13.50 here I come!! Well I've been working like crazy. Back to school next wednesday day, my first class of the day is auto 5-6 and it a whole 2 hours long! So that means I'll get my hands dirty and smell like oil before the day even starts, yess!

Way to go Mike!!! You are having a great year keep it going. On the other hand my car is running good but the driver is broken. We are partying at the classic on Saturday and spending the night so I hope to see everyone there.

Great test with the fixed fink!

Well another hot day at the track testing. The fink is fixed and honestly, better than ever, found out a lot and got the gremlins fixed. Finally. Lookin forward to the next race. I feel the car is now deadly, let's hope the driver can do the same! Later!

Well I love this race and even the heat could not change it, Sure would have liked better weather , but hey ! So Shane's car finally hooked. Big hurdle crossed there. And after four races and no testing , I think we have a clue on what the car likes. Do not fully know what happened on first round. Me , I like the bracket race but I must admit , the heat was getting to me after three days. My reactions were slipping and that's the best excuse I got. This time the car was ready and I was not. But let it not be misunderstood , I had a blast and did my best. Great weekend !!!!!!.

I had a great time this weekend also even though I red lit first round. Matt hope nothing serious with the FINK.  Congrats to Ken, Wayne, and Mike for making some noise. See you all soon.

tired but worth it.

well the superbowl was a hot weekend that had a not as good as i had hoped turn out but there was some noise made by the herd! congrats to wayne and mike roppo for makin the most noise out there. shane. great job buddy, now we are starting to get some needed data and seat time! my car broke for the 3rd time this season and i thru my back out so to say the least i'm in pain in more ways than 1. but all in all i really had a great time, 10 degrees cooler would've helped though. great job guys, lookin forward to the nextrace. i hope the fink is fixed by then, should be just a head gasket.

Well yes Matt almost slayed them all. First time there and he runner up. Good job. What a great day. Zender won Super Pro. Really felt good myself and lost in the same fashion as Matt Fink. Spun . WTF. Going to be better prepared next time we go. And we will. Just gotta know the track will suck. So we will prep for it. Foot Brake went down in second round I believe. Adam the same. Nova Mike went to semi. Going to the track on Thursday and Friday. Who else ?

well what a strong herd presence at osceola today! even with my broken fan a final round!! runner up though. man u wana talk about bad track conditions! it was epic.... worst i ever saw! pryka went to the semi's and honestly i kinda lost track.. roppo did good he went to the??? quarters? boy was it hot! but hey, when your goin rounds the heat is just no big deal. wel im tired and i had a blast later

State Championship

Well I want to add I had a great weekend indeed. I want to thank all that supported. Hope I did not neglect or pee off anyone in the excitement. If so I apologize. Looking for help if any tech geeks know alot about tablets. Looking to download pix from my GoPro and the tablet will not. Not in the market for a laptop at the moment. hope everyone had a good sunday at rt 66....1st race weather on the cool side should of been good for the time slips....I'm sorry I couldnt make it...the motor was ready friday on the engine stand...not in the car...sounded great for a refresh but until it's on the track who knows...hope to see everyone soon.

Test & Tune

Good to see everyone Saturday. A little cool out but made for some good runs. I ran my best pass ever of 11.705. Good to see Mikey go down the track. Looking forward to this weekend looks to be a little cool again but hopefully at least sunny. Took a few passes to start to shake off the rust but after a few more on Saturday should be good to go.

Well our first race of the year is going to be in Commerce Georgia, for the Nitto Tire NMRA NMCA All-Star Nationals at Alanta Dragway. But before that we gotta go testing so April 7th we will be heading to Byron for some TnT... What's everybody else have planned for testing? Everyone ready for E.T.I? 25th will be hear soon...

Well Shane I feel for you and certainly hope It works out . While I understand the states plight , I do not see where they can move prisoners when we don't have enough prison space as is. And early release is not an option in my book. Good Luck with it.

For those interested the last Snocross race of the year is in Lake Geneva this weekend. Seems ironic when I was working in the garage over the weekend with doors open and t shirt on.

Definitely got the racing bug.

Got the brakes on the 74 done. next pull motor for paint job and then wiring.

I just thought I would say hello and let everyone know how things are going. I am sure you have seen on the news that the governor is trying to close down my prison. We have a long road and a hard fight ahead of us. I am on the executive board for the union (AFSCME Local 1133). It is now up to us and the communities to show why we need the prison to stay open. Iam also the legislative chair as well so i have been busy. If the prison closes after 15 years there i do not know where ill go or what ill do. I urge people to call their legislators and express how important it is for the dwight correctional center to stay open. I'm asking everyone if possible to print off the petition and get signatures for me. You can follow what's going on via my facebook page. I will post the petition and some pictures of my progress as I have been meeting with legislators for the last 2 weeks. Your help would be greatly appreciated as my livelihood is at stake. The car is currently ready to go testing but not knowing if I'm going to have a job or not is really starting to hit home..... in many different ways.

well here are some of the projects I've been working on at the shop. 3 weeks it took me to tear apart the galaxie, replace ALL floors and the frame.... not bad if i do say so myself. also have finally finished the vette from hell.......! bout650hp and fast!! 76-99 mph 1.602 seconds. 22-76mph 4.2509. completely built by yours truly @a1 precision auto werks. currently workin on a 78 Malibu putting on a fogger to get it into the 7's. announcement!!!! it's a done deal.... next week i will begin tuning for route66motorsports! that's HUGE for me and long overdue for sure! to say the least i am really excited about that and looking forward to some hi quality cars from yesterday with today's fuel injected engines! haven't reassembled the fink yet, I've been busy!

Well we hit the Drag Expo on Saturday and it was entertaining at best. Busy no doubt. Sure wish I had more money. But hell should be used to it by now.

Worked the expo this weekend with Curran, had to put NMRA/NMCA Super Bowl flyers under windshield wipers in the parking lot. Used up a box of 3,000. Didn't see anyone at the expo but I seen every ones vehicles... seen Adam on Saturday, seen Roppo, Brody, Ballard, and Dad on Sunday. Also seen Al Wagner "The Hippie" Saturday night at the bar.

My father bought a set from Altronics today at the expo. So basically Matt your gonna have to teach me some new stuff! Even though in school we just learned about o2 sensors, I'm pretty dang sure you know 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 times more than my teacher LOL.

I've Been working like a mad man at the good old Portillo's. Getting like 30 hours a week! pretty good but I gotta admit that its a little hard with school but I'm getting everything done still. Not to much time do anything else either, school from 8-3 then work from 4-8 or 10 then sleep! LOL

I stopped by the Chevrolet dealership yesterday, for a look at the new
Silverado 1500 pickup.

Just for fun, I took it out for a test drive. I wanted to sense that
new "feel" before they become extinct.

The salesman (a black man wearing an Obama "CHANGE" lapel pin) sat in
The passenger seat describing the truck and all its "wonderful" options.
The seats were of particular interest to him.
He explained that the seats directed warm air to your butt in the winter
and directed cool air to your butt in the summer heat.

Feeling a little frisky and messing with him, I mentioned that this
must be a Republican truck.

Looking a bit angry, he asked why I thought it was a Republican truck.
I explained that if it were an Obama truck, the seats would blow smoke
up your ass year-round.

I had to walk back to the dealership to pick up my car . . . the guy had
absolutely no sense of humor.

So I been too busy on a commercial job. Mega Overtime. Looks like we are under control now. Thats my excuse and I'm sticking to it.

So yeah Shane the publicity is awesome. Cannot believe how well that wheelie has done for you. Sure gotta be glad McLovin was in his spot at the right time.
I cannot wait for this season.

Hope to find time today to bring my baby home. Sure do miss looking at her.

great shane, now if you could only get paid ..... then you would have fame and fortune. as for me, been working serious overtime on the galaxie. new frame, new floors.... all of em! oh ya, not new new, new used.. pulled from another 2cars i parted out. now the floors are near done and the frame is just about ready to go...... 9 days of actual work, shit i'm tired. but this is better than new. quality control in 1968 was total crap. don't ever believe the old- "they don't make'em like they used to"..... as far as fitment, seam seal, panel align, and pinch welding is concerend.... thank god for that! there is so many places for water to get in this car the should've called it the strainer! it lets water pass right through it!..lol.. later!

Sad news

I want to let everyone know my grandmother passed away yesterday. She was 93 and lived a very good life and passed very peacefully. So if you would like to say a little prayer for her I know my family would be grateful. Thank you.

so im gettin my fix tuning a 650hp vette getting the fuel injection programmed but i need more! been thinkin about the season and im thinkin, byron for 2? bucks bashes, cordova world series and... ohio in october - only 5 hrs- for the no box bananza. entry on that is bout 100$ for the weekend and it pays real well, that 3 races. and i think 5g, 10g, 5g. also thinkin indy in the spring before 66 opens.

Been busy doing tings. Like playing santa , husband , daddy , boss , brother in law , son in law , friend and champion bowler. Got most okay but the bowler. I did okay on the partying but the bowling makes my thumb hurt.
So new year and new season coming our way. Every one ready ? Every one see the new schedule ?
Am waiting for schedules from outside tracks to come up with our traveling race.
Thinking Indy , Great Lakes or Martin. Feedback ?
